How to wear and care for your botanical bracelet

A botanical bracelet is not the same as an ordinary piece of jewellery. The materials are real — wood, flowers, herbs, resins — and like all natural things, they respond to how you treat them. With a little care, the fragrance can stay with you for months. Here is what we have learned.

Wear it often, but not always. The warmth of your skin gently activates the fragrance, releasing it through the day. Worn daily, the scent will gradually mellow into something softer and more personal — but the bracelet itself will also age faster. Many of our customers wear theirs for a few days at a time, then let it rest in a small dish overnight. The fragrance returns refreshed.

Keep it away from water. Botanical bracelets do not love water. A splash of rain is fine; a shower or a swim is not. If your bracelet does get wet, lay it flat on a soft cloth and let it air-dry away from direct sunlight. Never apply heat.

Store it somewhere quiet. When you are not wearing it, keep your bracelet in a small ceramic dish, a fabric pouch, or the original packaging — somewhere dark, cool, and dry. Avoid direct sunlight, which can fade the natural colours over time.

Let the scent rest, then return. If you find the fragrance fading, do not worry. Place the bracelet in a small closed container (a tea tin works beautifully) for a few days. The scent will concentrate again, ready for the next time you reach for it.

Trust the imperfections. The colour of each bead may vary slightly. A small mark, an uneven edge, a difference in tone — these are not flaws. They are the fingerprints of real botanical materials. No two are exactly alike, and that is part of why you chose this in the first place.

A botanical bracelet is, in the end, a quiet daily companion. Treat it gently, give it space to rest, and it will give you many seasons of fragrance in return.
